Me in the trenches
Decemder 17 1916
The British is in the war im a lutenent on the front line I was 18 when I was first in the war but I never was actually in the battle we try to stay out of battle. My comander told me I would be down in the trenches.
December 18 1916
Me and the other people who were down in the trenches dug for alot of hours when we made the trenches are comander told us to get used to them because they might be are homes for a while.
December 19 1916
I am nervese and exciting I am nervese besause I have never been in a war and Im excited because I get to fight against Germany. WE wait for an attack nothin yet u dont get much sleep in trenches the ground is ruff and you couldnt even stand in the place were you sleep.
December 24 1916
I still wait canonons are in my ears every day Im getting used to them. I miss my wife Agust and my dog I wish I could talk to my wife. she is about 20 miles away. My wif My dog My car
December 25 1916
We finally are in combat bullets start whizzing by are head we figured that we can over run the Germans so we charged them but it was not smart the Germans had field guns and it can shoot one hundred men in a minute wwe retred back to the trenches.
dDecember 27 1916
I am tired of the war all ready I cant really sleep because I am scared of getting ambushed by the Germans. There is mud over my boots when it rains we have to dig the mud out of the trenches and it takes alot of time. This war was like a nightmare I saw many men die because of the field guns.

My comander told us to charge again but this time I didnt go I knew what was going to happen and sure enough I was right every body started running back to the trenches because of Germans field guns. Charging Germans

Letter to my wife
Hope you read this if this war never ends I love you and I miss you very much the nights are could down in the trenches and I the war is about over I cant wait to go home and see are house and dog.

The war is really closing down I think every one is getting tired of it and I think every body is to I havent showered in a long time the only shower we get is if it rains I write in this journal to help me get through the war I want to get home to my wife I want to show and the letters I wrote to her.

I am still in the trenches every night I sleep by bullets and I hear bullets all through the night you cant hear any thing after awhile because you get so used to them.
January 1 1916
Are wish came true we finally got a break germany had an armistice which meant that they surrendored in a honnored way. After that I got to come home and see my wife and my dog it was so great to see them I told my wife every thing that I did and how many people I shot which I was kinda of nervese shooting some body I never did it before. That was the end of war world one.
